Step Up Your Workflow with the Apple Mac Studio

If you’ve been working from home, you know the benefits of having a powerful computer. To help fulfill all your technology needs, Apple has released its new Mac desktop: Mac Studio. The key to the Mac Studio is its incredibly advanced chip technology in the form of the M1 Max or M1 Ultra. Let’s take a look at some of the major upgrades to the new Mac Studio from its comparable predecessor, the Mac mini.

DESIGN:

The Mac Studio is 7.7” square, making it incredibly space efficient. Though it is over two inches taller than the Mac mini, the Mac Studio offers “more power than most PCs” and improved airflow due to its built in bottom cooling vents. The better airflow means your experience will be quieter as well!

There are also plenty of ports which allow you to connect your USBs, HDMIs, headphones, and more. The Mac Studio includes a total of 12 ports (which includes 2 more Thunderbolt ports than the Mac mini!).

PERFORMANCE:

The Mac Studio is incredibly powerful, with the M1 Ultra chip, “appear[ing] to run circles around even the biggest, most powerful gaming PCs when it comes to multithreaded workflows.” That means that you can toggle between software programs such as Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and Adobe Photoshop without delay, making your work experience as smooth as possible.

COST:

The Mac Studio starts at a price of $1,999, a significant uptick in cost from the Mac mini (starts at $699). The increase in cost can be accounted for by the Mac Studio’s new chip technology, which provides greater performance capability than the Mac Mini.

Should you upgrade? If you’re an avid gamer, photo or video editor, or just constantly switching between different tasks on your computer, the Mac Studio will provide you with an elevated user experience. You can even opt for the M1 Ultra model, which is one of the most powerful on the market! If you’re looking for a simpler setup, consider sticking with the Mac mini.

No matter what you choose, we’re here to help you get your setup ready to go!
